When traveling to Africa with children, you want to make sure it is safe, entertaining and suitable for children. Some lodges are extremely child friendly and offer activities for every age. We can guarantee that every child will love the experience!


Hwange National Park Zimbabwe

Somalisa Camp is set in the heart of Hwange National Park, and is known as the land of the giants for its big elephant herds. Nestled in a stunning location tucked away on an acacia island along the edge of an ancient seasonal flood plain, Somalisa provides guests with breath-taking views of the savannah plains across the famous Kennedy Vlei line.


Recently re-built, Somalisa Camp has upgraded its level of accommodation to that of complete comfort and luxury whilst still maintaining its focus on the guiding and hosting of guests to ensure the ultimate guest experience. The main decking area includes split level decking with a separate lounge and dining area, as well as a small splash pool for guests overlooking the “Elephant Pool” and a natural waterhole where herds of game congregate to drink and where guests can relax whilst soaking in the African bush.


Activities include guided walks lead by qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you, game drives and night drives. Wildlife sightings include elephant, kudu, sable antelope, zebra, wildebeest, gemsbok, the rare and endangered roan antelope, buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, hyena, and many other wildlife species.


Madikwe, South Africa

Everything about the 76 000ha Madikwe Game Reserve is vast – its scenery, its wildlife, its skies… The rich and undulating landscape is punctuated by enormous volcanic intrusions (inselbergs) and this unique topography reveals an astonishing array of wildlife – including all of the Big Five. Madikwe Safari Lodge’s three exclusive retreats – Lelapa, Kopano, Dithaba – are located to appreciate the vastness and diversity of the surrounding landscape and wildlife. With unfenced proximity to this wilderness, you’ll experience a thoroughly authentic connection with the wild.

Lepala lodge is the ultimate child friendly safari accommodation. Each of the 12 spacious suites features indoor and outdoor showers, a private plunge pool and wood-burning fireplace, and is decorated with soft furnishings and natural materials.

Madikwe has a large swimming pool area with toys, Eco House for the kids and kids eat free. But most important: Madikwe Game Reserve is a malaria free destination!


Serengeti National Park Tanzania

Kubu Kubu Tented Camp, is an exciting new addition to Tanganyika Wilderness Camps’ collection of luxury safari accommodation. With a modern African appearance, creating a fresh, sleek, yet comfortable ambiance. Situated in the stunning central part of the Serengeti, the camp will be strategically positioned in one of the main migration areas so that guests can enjoy this awesome natural wonder from the comfort of their tents. There will be 25 spacious en-suite tents which will offer absolute comfort, exclusivity and a genuine African bush experience. In the central restaurant guests will be able to enjoy exceptional food and wines, and the cozy lounge area has been creatively designed to give an atmosphere of intimacy and exclusivity. There will also be a swimming pool in which to relax after a long game drive. Internet access will be available in the camp with Wifi in the central area. Accommodation will be on a full board basis.


Masai Mara, Kenya

andBeyond Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp is situated in the Kichwa Tembo private concession, which neighbours the Masai Mara National Reserve. In addition to the excellent year-round concentration of wildlife, Kichwa Tembo lies directly in the path of Africa’s spectacular Great Migration.


The camp boasts 12 classic tents, 20 superior tents and 8 superior view tents. While all the tents look out onto the open grasslands or the shady forest surrounding the Saparingo River, the superior view tents boast exceptionally beautiful, uninterrupted views of the Masai Mara.The generously sized swimming pool is set among the trees and surrounded by lush lawns and spectacular views. Opening up onto incredible Masai Mara views, the guest areas feature a double-story bar and lounge area with oversized windows offering spectacular panoramas. The dining area surrounds an interactive kitchen and vegetable garden, making food an integral part of the safari experience.
